Anemone Nemorosa is a delicate little plant often forming an elegant carpet in shady woodland in spring, accompanied by bluebells . It grows from a spreading mass of stolons, which produce finely-cut trifoliate leaves in spring. The white starry flowers, about an inch across and often tinged pink on the reverse, with a ring of yellow stamens surrounding a ball of green stigmas, are borne singly on separate stems, with leaves lower down to protect the flowers when in bud.
