  • Now is the time to order your spring flowering flower bulbs.
  • Start moving frost tender plants in to the greenhouse.
  • Carry out autumn lawn maintenance by aerating, scarifying, top dressing and feeding/reseeding bare patches and create new lawns.
  • Plant garlic and winter onions.
  • Clear tomatoes out of the greenhouse.
  • Start to prepare for the winter months, remove any dead plants.
  • Take time out to plan your winter bedding and containers.
  • Plant hyacinth bulbs in to pots and store in a well ventilated, dry, dark place.
  • Plant spring flowering bulbs in beds, borders, pots and grass areas.
  • This is a good time to sow grass seed.  Use fleece to protect against birds.  This also helps to maintain soil warmth and moisture retention.
  • Increase wild bird feeding.
  • Order your spring flowering bulbs.
  • Lift, divide and replant large clumped perennials once they have finished flowering.
  • Plant flower bulbs in containers and pots. Remember to store in a cool well ventilated garage or shed over winter.
